stage 4 lockdown business victoria

Additional business support has been announced to help eligible businesses with the latest restrictions.

Weren’t previously eligible for JobKeeper?

Although you may not have qualified for JobKeeper originally, stage 4 lockdown may have changed things for you.

The original JobKeeper system runs until the end of September, so if you are expecting a drop of 30% or more to your revenue this month, it may be worth applying.

JobKeeper 2.0 possible changes

(October onward)

Treasurer Frydenberg commented earlier this week that he is in talks with the state government to discuss the possibility about easing the eligibility criteria to JobKeeper 2.0 which commences in October.
Under the current arrangements, most businesses currently on JobKeeper would have failed to qualify for JobKeeper 2.0 due to improved business performance in late May and June.
Due to Victoria’s stage 4 lockdown, it’s being proposed that this test be modified so businesses affected by the lockdown are not disadvantaged by one or two good months in the June quarter.
We’ll let you know more on this once information becomes available.
